Unlike basic voltmeters, the BMV-702 uses advanced software algorithms to calculate true battery state of charge by analysing current flow, battery capacity, discharge rates, and charging behaviour. It also records valuable historical performance data, helping users identify battery health issues and optimise charging cycles.
A key advantage of the BMV-702 over the standard BMV-700 is its additional auxiliary input, which can be configured to monitor a second battery voltage, battery temperature, or midpoint voltage in larger battery banks.
