The Victron Cyrix-Li-Charge 12/24V-120A is an intelligent charge relay designed specifically for Victron Lithium (LiFePO4) battery systems that use a Victron VE.Bus BMS. Its primary purpose is to safely connect and disconnect battery chargers from a lithium battery bank based on instructions from the BMS, ensuring the battery is protected from over-voltage, under-voltage, and temperature-related charging faults.
Unlike a standard voltage-sensitive relay, the Cyrix-Li-Charge is specifically intended for charger control in lithium systems. When the VE.Bus BMS permits charging, the relay connects the charger to the battery bank. If the BMS detects an unsafe condition, such as cell over-voltage or excessive temperature, the relay disconnects immediately to protect the battery.
This device is commonly used in marine, motorhome, caravan, off-grid, and energy storage installations where chargers cannot be directly controlled by the BMS.
