Unlike a simple voltmeter, the BMV-702 continuously measures battery voltage and current via the included 500A precision shunt and calculates state of charge, amp-hours consumed, power consumption, and remaining runtime using advanced algorithms. A key advantage over the BMV-700 is its auxiliary input, which can monitor a second battery voltage, battery temperature, or midpoint voltage in larger battery banks.
