- When a charging source such as an alternator, solar charger, battery charger, or inverter/charger raises the battery voltage above a preset threshold, the relay automatically closes and combines the battery banks.
- Both batteries are then charged simultaneously.
- When charging stops and voltage falls below the disconnect threshold, the relay automatically opens, isolating the batteries and preventing unwanted discharge.
